JAMES ALBERT WELLS (son of David Wells and Sarah Tackett) was born 3 February 1845 in Charleston, Kanawha County, Virginia and died 3 July 1913 in Addyston, Hamilton County, Ohio. He married Nancy Wallace on 6 December 1868 in Lucasville, Valley Twp., Scioto County, Ohio. She was born Abt. 1853 in Ohio and died 21 April 1926 in Addyston, Hamilton County, Ohio.

James A. Wells was a member of CO."E" 73rd infantry, Ohio in the Civil War. He enlisted on 27 January 1864 and was mustered out 13 July 1865 at Louisville, Ky.
